Welcome to Wellness with me!
WHITNEY JOHNSON-MARTIN
I am delighted that you’re here and grateful that you are considering partnering with me on your journey to healing. You may have heard how important it is to find a therapist you connect with, so I’m glad to tell you a bit about who I am and share my ‘why.’

“My therapeutic approach can be summed up as compassionate and collaborative.”
“I have personal experiences that fuel my passion for the areas I specialize in.”
“Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or surface-level change—”
Getting to Know Me
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an advocate for emotional and spiritual wellness, a business owner, a public speaker, and a Partner-in-Wellness to all who are on this journey. My titles and credentials rest on the foundation of me being a believer, a Black woman, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a friend, a member of a big extended family full of love, and a California native (born and raised in Long Beach, CA). Every aspect of who I am informs the work that I do, especially my lived experiences.
My therapeutic approach can be summed up as compassionate and collaborative. I like to keep it real and authentic in the most caring way, and I make it clear that you are in the driver’s seat of your therapy process. I meet you where you’re at and help you get to where you’re trying to go. I will guide you, (gently) challenge you, and cheer you on as you progress. My primary treatment style is Internal Family Systems (learn more here), because of its affirming, holistic, and spiritual foundation. However, I also incorporate other evidence-based practices into our sessions to meet your unique needs.
Although I have years of education and training that support my work, I also have personal experiences that fuel my passion for the areas I specialize in. I’ve struggled with anxiety. I’ve carried deep grief. I’ve fumbled through adulting and life transitions. I was raised in church and witnessed much church hurt. I care because I know. My life has been transformed through faith and therapy, and I’m grateful I get to facilitate the same healing transformation for others. I’m not just looking to diagnose you and send you on your way — I am committed to walking alongside you as you heal and find a clearer path forward.
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or surface-level change— it’s about digging deep to uncover the root of your struggles and equipping you with the tools and confidence to move forward. I believe healing happens when we tend to every part of you— mind, body, and spirit.
If you’re ready to experience healing and live with greater peace, I’d love to join you on the journey.
